The birthplace of Southern hospitality is making a splash with the opening of Mountain Rush at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia. Part of the new two-acre Allegheny Springs, Mountain Rush features thrills and spills for all ages, including two 100-foot water slides and a 400-foot lazy river. It’s the latest addition as part of a multifaceted $25 million transformation that has heightened The Homestead experience.

Mountain Rush presents all-season enjoyment for guests of the 3,000-acre resort. While two waterslides move at a quick pace, the lazy river finds guests rolling through the natural landscape on inner tubes at comfortable speeds. And there’s more to enjoy, including a charming springhouse poised over a babbling brook that feeds the lazy river; winding footpaths; a separate family pool and whirlpool; and a sandy beach. Come winter, the family pool will remain open for guests to relax in steamy waters or on chaise lounges set upon a stone-face deck warmed by radiant heat, while the water play zone is transformed into an ice skating rink.
