Falconry
The “Sport of Kings” Finds a Home in Virginia: Falconry at The Homestead
Here in the countryside of Virginia, falcon hunting lives up to its long-standing reputation as the “sport of kings.” The Homestead makes this unique form of hunting available to its guests, continuing a field sports tradition that stretches back nearly 400 years. You’ll learn the fine points of the sport with trained birds of prey – including falcons, hawks and owls – at The Homestead's Mews, a world-class Virginia falconry facility. And at the end of your lesson, you can purchase a photograph of you and the bird to serve as a lasting keepsake.
