Hiking & Biking
Explore the Countryside of Virginia: Hiking and Biking at The Homestead
One hundred miles of Virginia hiking and biking trails wind through acres of mountains and valleys surrounding The Homestead , and they’re all yours to explore. Rent a mountain bike for a two-wheel adventure through this southwestern Virginia wonderland, on biking trails ranging from intermediate to extreme. Our easiest trail is 3.5 miles and takes an average of 75 minutes to complete. Mountain bikes are available for rental in the lower level of the mountain lodge at the ski area from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Helmets are provided and required on Homestead property. All bikes – from front suspension mountain bikes to children’s bikes – are rented on a first-come, first-served basis.
