A Virginia Fishing Vacation to Remember at The Homestead

Some of the best Virginia fly fishing is offered on the beautiful private waters of the Cascades Stream. Our Orvis-trained guides are available for fly fishing lessons or guiding services. Licenses, equipment rental and stream use permits and fishing gear are available at Allegheny Activities located on the shop corridor. Two-hour to full-day packages include stream permit, all rental equipment, and guide service. FLOAT FISHING

Anglers will experience a renowned trout fishery while floating through some of the areas most scenic landscape. Catch and release only and fly-fishing is preferred.

Float Fishing is a unique form of fly-fishing that allows two anglers along with a guide to experience several miles of beautiful river without having to hike and wade all day. Fishing is mostly for trout on the lower Jackson River below Lake Moomaw.  Anglers should plan for a full day of fishing and fun. Lunch is included. This activity is seasonal and available starting late spring when the water levels on the river begin to drop. Virginia trout stamp and fishing license required. (6 hours)
