There's every reason to go outside and play at The Homestead. Winter brings activities for the whole family! The Homestead ski area offers over 45 acres for skiing and snowboarding enjoyment, complete snowmaking capabilities, Olympic-size skating rink, full rental and equipment sales, a fireside lodge as well as a deck with a stone fireplace and a staff of professional European ski and skate instructors for individual and group clinics.

The Homestead winter complex is closed for the season.

The Sepp Kober Ski School & Bunny School
Enjoy skiing, snowboarding and skating lessons. Private and group lessons available.

Cross-Country Skiing
Kick and glide across the Old Course or get the heart rate up on The Homestead trail. We offer cross-country skiing lessons and guided tours. Rental equipment is available for all ages. Available mid December - March, weather and natural snowfall permitting.

Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding
The luxury ski resort at The Homestead has been a skier's destination since 1959. We are known for our wide slopes and being a great family learning area. The Homestead ski area offers ski and snowboard lessons, rental equipment and bunny school programs. The area has over 45 acres for skiing and snowboarding enjoyment. Available mid December - March, weather permitting.

Guided Snowmobile Tours
Join us for our ski resort's most popular guided winter adventure product, Snowmobile tours. We offer ½ hour and 1 hour tours on the trails around The Homestead. We offer evening tours on the slopes of the ski resort when natural snowfall does not allow us to use our 40+ miles of trails. Dress in layers, gloves and warm clothing! We provide a full face helmet on all tours which is required. Must be 16 with valid driver's license to drive your own snowmobile, age 6 to ride as a passenger. Available mid December - March, weather permitting.

Kids Snowmobiles

We are delighted to offer Polaris snowmobiles for kid's this year.  Kids as young as age 6 can enjoy riding their own snowmobile which is what fun is all about!  Available mid December - March, weather permitting.

Ice-Skating
The Homestead's large outdoor ice rink is a great place to learn to skate or just spend a few hours enjoying the ice while in Virginia. We offer lessons and rental equipment. Available mid December - March, weather permitting.

Snowshoeing
If you can walk you can enjoy the fastest growing segment of the snow-sports, Snowshoeing, at our luxury ski resort. Try a winter hike on one of our many trails at The Homestead. We offer lessons, guided tours and rental equipment on site at The Mountain Lodge. Available mid December - March, weather and natural snowfall permitting.

Snowtubing
Remember the fun of sledding? Now enjoy all the fun of sledding without all the work of walking back up the hill! Our snowtubing area offers 2 lanes of tubing excitement. Available mid December - March, weather and natural snowfall permitting.
